Desislava Petrova
Embryologist
Born in 1978 in Sofia, married, one son and one daughter (2001, 2008).
1996 – graduated 19th High school “Elin Pelin” – Sofia.
2000 – graduated Medical University, Sofia as a nurse and started a bachelor’s programme in biology in the Sofia University “Sv. Kliment Ohridski”.
In the period 2004-2006 continued her educationin the Sofia University “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” – development biology and graduated with a master degree.
Her professional experience begins as a student and works as a nurse in the department of endocrinology in the Hospital for Active Treatment of Pediatric Diseases, Sofia (1999-2005).
2005-2006 works as a nurse inSofiaMedical Center of Reproductive Medicine and IVF.
Since 2006 she has committed herself to assisted reproduction and works as an embryologist in SofiaMedical Center of Reproductive Medicine and IVF and Sofia Hospital of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine. For 6 years hard working in one of the most successful IVF Centers in Bulgaria she approved herself as a leading specialist in reproductive technologies.
In 2012 she joined prof. Strohmer’s teamin Vienna In Vitro Center in Tokuda Hospital Sofia as a chief embryologist.
In 2012-training in Human reproduction and embryology in the IVF laboratory, Kinderwunschzentrum, Vienna , Austria, headed by prof. Strohmer.She improved her practical skills and learnt the newest methods increasing the success rate in assisted reproduction under the guidance of one of the best embryologist in Austria – Martina Wober.
Attends the International Congresses of ESHRE and Annual Meetings of Bulgarian Association of Sterility and Reproductive Health.
Member of the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
Speaks English fluently.
